Seeking The Latino Community? Grab A Coffee And Start With Cafecito Caliente

    So who do you know?

So many businesses and organizations talk about wanting to access the Latino community but don’t know where to start. From our website Cafecito Caliente, I have received emails from businesses and organizations all wanting to understand what Cafecito is about and how can they meet the people we connect with.

Although I am willing to meet businesses and organizations on their turf or through phone/email paths, the perception that most non-profits operate with the idea of a “what can you do for our organization”, I believe stops these same businesses and organizations from reaching out to the non-profits.

Cafecito is run as a business. Our relationship with Jackson National Life goes back to 2012 and they are highlighted on our website 6 months a year for their sponsorship of Latino Day with the Lugnuts every August. We look forward to them once again being on board as we host the 9th Latino Day August 9th.

We have a relationship with Feldman Chevrolet as they backed us with our very first Cinco de Mayo 5k run in 2019 and have been our main sponsor every since as well as this years upcoming two. The Cinco de Mayo 5k might double the entries from last year (125 in 2019) and I thank Feldman for supporting us from Day 1. We keep them highlighted on our website year round as friendships are not a one day event are they?

Our philosophy is “we try to give back to the community in some form by providing connections, resources, support and by also creating opportunities to meet the Latino community. Do we charge? Well no, but the hope is that one day I may need something, a contact, a referral, support for the Latino Achievement Ceremony Scholarship Fund (hint, hint), etc. and you see the value that we bring to the table and give dollars, staff or support to them. If you have ever seen the movie “Jerry McGuire”, my philosophy was built on the idea that we should give more personal attention to those we have a relationships with.

Think about it. We keep your business or organization that you are connected to in mind through their support of the Latino community that perhaps they are trying to access year round with little to no success.

Perhaps your workplace, your business, or your department wants to access the Latino community and doesn’t know we exist. Maybe, you should let them know they should join us next week for Cafecito Networking Night and that Cafecito Caliente is not a coffee shop. One day maybe…..

    So, who do you know?
