Michigan State University is celebrating its 13th Commemorative Celebration on Friday, March 31st, 2023, honoring the legacies of local and national community leaders and organizers with a special lunch on campus for MSU students, faculty, staff and local community leaders. The public is welcome. This event recognizes the brave leaders that created change and impact for farmworkers and Latinx communities, their history, challenges and progress in America. This year’s theme is, Recordando y Progresando Raices; Remembering and Progressing our Roots.
Teresa Romero who is the President of the United Farm Workers who also happens to be the first Latina and first immigrant woman to become president of a national union in the United States will be the keynote speaker.
