Elias Lopez was formerly announced as the new Director for Farmworker Student Services at MSU. A former College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) scholar and first-generation college graduate, Elias’s connection to this work is both professional and personal. His journey from working in Michigan’s fields to becoming a student and leader at Michigan State University has shaped his career dedicated to ensuring farmworker students have the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to belong, succeed, graduate, and give back to their communities.
Elias brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education. His leadership has supported internships, career readiness, leadership development, international engagement, and fundraising.
A truly full-circle moment, from the fields to MSU, from MSU to meaningful careers, and ultimately back to strengthening the communities that made that journey possible.
