The Cafecito Caliente Awards would like to announce Trini Lopez Pehlivanoglu as our 2024 Latina of the Year recipient. Trini made history when on January 1, 2024, she was elected to become the first Latina ever to sit on the Lansing City Council as an At Large member. Always known to volunteer her time to her Church and community, many of us have either watched her grow up serving others or walked beside her on many projects as she has never forgotten her roots. The City Council was a great move for her and for the City of Lansing.

The Lansing Lugnuts hosted the Inaugural Cafecito Awards in March 2023 and despite the venue change to accommodate the growing Awards program, the Lugnuts continue to be a Platinum Sponsor.
