Opening day was Sunday, May 4, 2014 as 12 teams began the season with the family of Maggie Noyola, Ed, Leticia and Frank throwing out the Ceremonial First Pitch for the League. Monica Ortiz sang the National Anthem and for the league that has been in existence since the early 1970’s. Congratulations go out to Al and Olivia Mejorado who have been part of the Latino leagues for 40 years. With 7 teams coming back from last season and 5 new teams, the league runs thru mid August with its playoffs and league picnic to be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014. The league has always been a family friendly league with many teams comprised of family members. It also is a competitive league as no on likes to lose to say the least. With League President Gilbert Arcaute and Secretary-Treasurer Olivia Mejorado in charge, the league looks forward to continuing a tradition of Latino Ball that started in 1946 when locally, teams began to organize and play baseball.
