Tejano Sound Band is one of Lansing Michigan’s premier Tejano acts. TSB has a long and rich history. Co- founders Johnny and Richard Vasquez started their careers playing with their brothers “Los Hermanos Vasquez.” Years later when the older Vasquez siblings decided to retire from music, Johnny and Richard, eventually, went on in their own respective bands. In 1994, Johnny asked Richard if he wanted to start their own band like they had before. Richard accepted the invitation at which point they also picked up a partner, brother-in-law, and co-founder Frank Medellin.
News spread quickly about Tejano Sound Band and they were instantly embraced by the public. Their focus was to be a crowd pleasing band that would be as professional as possible. Tejano Sound Band is known known for their stage presence, hi-tech sound, and light show. The band has shared the stage with many artists and bands from Texas and across the country. Now, TSB is still kicking with a fresh new line up. Lupe Moreno, AJ Garcia, Bobby Gonzalez, Rolando Revilla, Michael Hiemstra, Richard Vasquez, Johnny Vasquez and Mark Garcia (Manager) make up what is now TSB. The band also recognizes former band members that have passed on (Andy Pizana and Frank Medellin)
TSB recorded their first cd entitled “Ahora” and produced hits like Tu Eres La Mujer and Es Mejor Decir Adios which were featured on Bnet radio and Ben Gonzalez’s Countdown USA. “Yo Te Amare” is the second release from TSB. The band wanted to use this production to showcase the band’s diversity by recording songs non-typical of TSB. There was a little Norteno, Merengue, and even Country added to their solid Tejano line up. “Yo Te Amare” produced such hits as Mi Angel, Se Me Olvido Que Te Olvide, Aqui Estare as well as the title track. Now with the release of their third cd “Cierra Los Ojos”, the band is reaching new heights and new fans from all over the US and Mexico.
