The City of Lansing will hold it’s15th Annual Memorial Celebration in honor of Cesar E. Chavez on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. There will be a ceremony in the Tony Benavides Lansing City Council Chamber located on the 10th Floor in Lansing’s City Hall.
Immediately following the ceremony will be a reception in the City Council conference room. The ceremony is held annually close the Cesar’s birthday each year as he was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma, California. Cesar made frequent visits to the Greater Lansing area visiting the Hispanic Latino community which was and is known for the many former and current migrant workers who moved here from southern States of Texas and California.
