Every month, LUCERO scholars will engage in a variety of topics that resonate with the experiences of Latino/a/x students, including: creating a strong and positive sense of community on campus, building strong connections with peers, staff, and faculty, and celebrating the rich cultural diversity within the Latinx community.
LUCERO scholars will meet with mentors during programs meeting and engage with campus and community mentors during monthly Next Level Networking sessions. During these sessions, LUCERO scholars are encouraged to learn about mentors’ academic and career trajectories and engage in dialogue surrounding overcoming barriers to achieve goals.

The word “Lucero” means morning star, evening star, bright star, brilliance.
The acronym stands for: Latinos United con/with Energy, Respect and Pride
