Monday night at Los Rancheros Mexican Grill, Ron DeLeon shared some of his successes, some of his failures and most importantly, his passion for life. He spoke about leaving a legacy for his children and their children. Jessie Lopez was a mentor who encouraged him to keep going even after a disastrous night for his Ron DeLeon Promotions which featured a night of boxing. He also runs Mixed Martial Arts nights too but boxing is his love. By night he runs his Promotions business, by day he is the three time City Pulse “Favorite CATA Bus Driver” known by many MSU students as a caring soul providing humor, a smile, and encouragement. Of course his own humbleness will point at the MSU students stating he thrives on their positivity, drive and hustle. He is also known for his humorous stories that he sees as he drives his bus claiming that “people give him plenty of content”. He calls it “The Diary of a Short Mexican Bus Driver”. He is currently working on publishing it as a book. Much love to you Ron and thank you for coming through for us.
The night brought as usual for these Cafecito Networking nights, a diverse crowd. We were treated to two special guests. One being Shauna Dunnings who came by to introduce herself. She is running for Probate Judge. We definitely look forward to hearing from her again. One look at her website, and you will see all of the endorsements Shauna has received ahead of the August primaries. Thank you Shauna for thinking of us. The other one was Liliana Ospina who traveled in from the city of Howell to meet us. Liliana runs a popular video program called “Latinos En Michigan TV”. Anyone who has tried to document the Latino community with video knows, this is not easy to do. But one look at her website will show you, she is not only doing it, she is succeeding. Thank you Liliana for taking the time to drive out our way to introduce us to you and your program. Cafecito looks forward to crossing paths again in the near future.
