The Lansing Economic Area Partnership will be giving away about 400 grants worth 5.5 million dollars in September to businesses, non profits (this includes Churches) and sole proprietorships worth $10,000 to $20,000 each.Cafecito Caliente was asked to help identify those that might be eligible and to help guide them in the application process. If your business was affected by Covid 19 and needs help paying rent, utilities payroll etc. and have less than 50 employees, you are probably eligible to apply.

Together with LEAP there are 10 organizations including Cafecito, that spent time developing the application and review process and we will be scoring the applications. The scoring criteria is on the LEAP website and the deadline to apply is August 5, 2020. 30% of the funding MUST go to minorities, veterans and women. Quite a few non profits will be chosen as well. Its estimated that 1 in 6 applicants will receive an award.
Cafecito is available to help anyone, either by phone call, Zoom meeting or stopping in at your place of business until midnight August 5, 2020, day or night. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for help day or night. I UNDERSTAND THE SCORING CRITERIA.
