Bikers for Books which is a 501c(3) non profit organization led by Badge Velaquez that collects and donates books to children and schools, will be at the Latino Day with the Lugnuts to collect new and gently used books. They will then in turn distribute them in a effort to raise awareness and promote literacy by establishing a presence in the community and networking with others to do the same.
Bikers for Books is a network of bikers and other reading enthusiasts working together in an effort to raise reading awareness by distributing books, partnering with school districts and by speaking to kids about the importance at any age of good reading skills.
