The Christmas Symposium returned from a one year break and was to put it simply, a great night to enjoy the company of old friends as well as building new friendships. With those new friendships came the promise to build those into solid relationships in 2022. Showing up were elected officials and community organizers. Community leaders from the 1970’s as well up and coming community leaders in their 20’s.
Much thanks to everyone who bought tickets and sponsored as we were able to raise about $1,800 that will go towards the “No Senior Without a Christmas” which is administered by the Tri-County TRIAD. TRIAD will fill 400 boxes with household supplies, non-perishable food, and holiday cheer. The boxes are delivered to needy, older adults living in the tri-county region of Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. Each box is delivered by uniformed public safety personnel, including law enforcement and fire personnel.
Much thanks to our sponsors Traci Ruiz Consultants, MI ALMA, The Lansing City Council, Ingham County Circuit Court Judges, James and Elizabeth Jamo, the Lansing Lugnuts and Cafecito Caliente. The Symposium was held at “The View” which is a 2,000 square foot event center named for it’s great view of Jackson Stadium home of the Lansing Lugnuts. Special thanks to the Lugnuts for hosting this year’s edition!
While the Hispanic Latino community puts this together yearly, it clearly is a night that brings together anyone and everyone willing to step out of their comfort zone and meet folks from the different pockets of Greater Lansing.
