Selina & Kálmán (K) Máté are the husband-and-wife team behind Peculiar Coffee Co., a mobile coffee company bringing specialty espresso and a little bit of peculiarity to events across Michigan. Since starting Peculiar Coffee in May of 2025, they have served notable brands and organizations including Kendra Scott, Morgan Stanley, Kellogg, Michigan State University, and more.
Beyond catering, Selina and K are building a community of Peculiar People at local farmers markets, connecting with customers and bringing their love of coffee to the Lansing community. They also produce their own signature syrups, with their banana bread and salted date flavors becoming customer favorites. They celebrate their Mexican (Selina) and Hungarian (K) roots with fun flavors like pan dulce, cafe de oIla, cherry, and poppyseed making appearances on seasonal menus.
